Q&A

Q. What was it that drew you to Armanino?
Armanino is a high-growth, forward-looking firm. When I joined, I was excited to be part of a team that’s focused on serving clients while keeping its innovative spirit and enthusiastic outlook for the future.
Q. What law or regulation in the accounting industry would you like to see changed?
Broadly speaking, I think it would be nice for the guidance to be a little more commonsensical. It would be great if this guidance included the business context rather than dictating accounting regulations in a vacuum. I know my clients would love it if the rules were written in a way where more people could understand and apply them on a day-to-day basis.
Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.
I love creating active partnerships with my clients. It’s great when we’re able to establish rapport and collaborate and engage with their team. This allows me to know my clients’ businesses better and more effectively meet their needs.
Q. Describe your work style.
I’m a very relationship-driven team member. I like to create opportunities that empower others to step up and succeed. I find that this motivates my colleagues to figure out what success looks like for them and to work toward their goals.
Q. If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to aspiring accountants or consultants, what would that be?
One of my professors in grad school would always talk to us about the importance of having good communication skills. Now that I look back on it, I understand why it’s so important to communicate the complexity of your work in a professional manner. Whether it’s verbal or non-verbal, being cognizant and focused on communication is an important skill all of us can improve upon and focus on.
