Q&A

Q. Make a prediction; describe your vision of the future of the general business environment for your area of expertise or the industries you serve.

It would be beneficial for our clients if there was a consolidation in IT frameworks to make compliance more streamlined. Additionally, the quality of the audits against the various frameworks is not on a level playing field and it would be helpful to see additional enforcement of the auditors to ensure that an audit report or compliance certificate truly reflects actual compliance with the requirements.

Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.

We have so many great clients. I genuinely enjoy the relationships we build together and appreciate it when they reach out with their needs. That friendly, personal relationship that we can build truly strengthens the bond between auditors and clients.

Q. What keeps you up at night?

Not much keeps me up at night. I try to have low stress and low anxiety levels. I like to maintain a positive outlook that my team and I are going to figure out the problems facing us. While some may tend to think the sky is falling, I always think tomorrow is going to be a better day.

Q. Describe your work style.

I am direct. I have found the best way to deliver challenging news is to be straight forward and always have a plan. If my team is stressed, they need to know their partner is sound and calm.

Q. Who is (or was) the most influential person in your life?

My parents have always pushed me to succeed in my everyday life. They placed a heavy importance on education by putting me through private school K-12. They came to the U.S. from Poland, and they made a tremendous number of sacrifices for me.

Q. If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom to aspiring accountants or consultants, what would that be?

The best advice I received is to always keep learning. There is so much to learn as this industry is constantly changing. You should always be open to advice from others and be able to learn from their experiences.

Q. What do you love most about your work?

I enjoy that I can teach and train others and I love that I get to pass down what I’ve learned. It feels good to help others succeed and elevate in their career.
