Q&A

Q. What was it that drew you to Armanino?
Every time someone mentioned Armanino, it was followed by a compliment of the positive culture or the innovation and growth. The employees I knew before joining spoke highly of what the firm was doing and what the future looked like — that’s when I knew I wanted to be a part of it all.
Q. What is the toughest decision you have ever made?
Early in my career, I left college for a short time to follow in my grandfather’s footsteps and worked as a railroad conductor. I quickly realized my destiny wasn’t going to be the same as his, but was overwhelmed by the thought that I was letting him down by following my own path. I now know that I made the right decision and my grandpa is still just as proud.
Q. Without naming names, tell us about your favorite client and why you enjoyed working with them.
I worked closely with a private equity company, and we did multiple portfolios together. We bonded through this process and the relationship began to feel more like a partnership. I appreciated their proactiveness and they felt they could trust us to do what was best for their company.
Q. Describe your work style.
I’m a teacher, and helping grow others is what keeps me motivated and provides me with a lot of satisfaction. I work closely with staff, acting as a sounding board, so they can come to answers on their own. Allowing them to work through a problem while knowing they can come to me for help is a growth opportunity that I never mind providing.
Q. Who is (or was) the most influential person in your life?
No one is as encouraging and supportive as my wife. She provides an outside perspective and encourages me to always follow my passion.
