As COO of our consulting practice, my areas of focus are advancing our people’s journeys and implementing our vision for 2025. People are the most important element of our operations, and we have an entire strategy around our team’s path within the firm. As we approach 2025, our people are the building blocks to our collective goals. While I execute the strategic plan and harmonize our processes, our teams make it possible to reach the milestones along the way. Together, we will help our firm evolve and set ourselves up for the future.
When making predictions, we have to be mindful that the landscape is always changing. That’s why I like to look at what’s going to happen in the next two years and maintain an Amazon “day one” mentality. As VUCA continues, we need to consider how artificial intelligence, blockchain, quantum computing, cryptocurrencies and machine learning will permeate our everyday business transactions. With the employee experience changing dramatically, companies must embrace the evolution into a worker-centric environment. They need to use technology to adjust their business models and adapt their culture. This will help create new opportunities while making businesses more resilient.
Every decision is important to me, as I’m rarely a person who makes emotional or reactionary decisions. I believe that when choices feel challenging it’s because they involve an element of growth or change, and that’s what makes them important. Even something that may seem like a small decision today could have a lasting impact on an individual or a person’s career or on the direction of a business going forward. That’s why I think every decision is a new opportunity that requires some level of thoughtfulness.
The secret sauce of Armanino is in our team, and that’s what I love most about my work. Knowing that I have a people here who rely on me and who are also there to support me is what gets me up in the mornings. I know that, together, we can do great things for each other and we can make Armanino an even better place for all of us to grow our careers.
As an analytical person who likes to process information, I thrive best in a team environment. Collaborating with others helps me peel back the numbers to see what’s underneath, get different perspectives and make thoughtful decisions.
Being career-driven has led me to make many life decisions based on my professional goals. That’s why making partner was such a big deal for me. My parents never went to college and grew up in the Depression, they always had high expectations and aspirations for me. Although both passed away before I became partner, this achievement was the realization of their professional hopes and dreams for me.
