Bio
Barry is a licensed CPA and holds CGMA and MS certifications. He specializes in sophisticated income and estate tax planning for closely held businesses and their owners. His prior experience includes serving as the Chief Financial Officer of an NYSE company, work that subsequently enabled him to advise clients using his inside perspective. Barry advises clients on business succession planning, structuring business purchases and sales, implementing and maximizing research and development credits, cost segregation studies, utilization of qualified and non-qualified pension plans and federal and state tax credit utilization. He also has extensive experience handling tax controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and state and local governmental agencies.
Barry frequently presents on tax topics such as advanced partnership taxation and flow-through entities. He has also written articles on tax-saving techniques in such publications as the New York Real Estate Journal.
